SHORT BIO.

Karolina Borovinskich was born in 1986 in Klaipeda, Lithuania. Since the childhood she was interested in various arts and crafts. From early years she was influenced by works of Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Birute Zilyte and Salvador Dali. Later find mystical charm in works of Zdzisław Beksiński, Francis Bacon and David Lynch serial drama “Twin Peaks.”  Apart from visual art, music is quite dominant part of her life, inspiration may hit from Ethnic/Folk music to IDM, and everything in between. Moreover, she finds inspiration in daily routine, events, people and nature.

While studying in University, she experiments with photography a lot, in such techniques as lightpainting and selfportraits.  In this year’s (2005-2010) she develops new skills in photoshop and creative photography.  Participated in local University photography and video contests.

In 2019 Karolina begins her journey as a painter. She studied under the direction of Regina Donbrauskaitė-Plotnikova in art club “Guboja.”

Karolina is very drawn by abstract painting. Depending on the mood or/and inspiration can paint in natural or bright neon colors. Draws intuitively. Most commonly uses acrylic painting on canvas, both thick and fluid. In addition, she uses various tools for creating interesting textures in her works.

Artist Statement.

My work explores the unseen energies and emotional frequencies that move through and between us. I use fluid forms, layered pigment, and intuitive color blending to reflect moments when inner or external forces intersect, amplify, or dissolve. My process is guided by instinct and emotion, allowing each piece to emerge organically, like a visual echo of something felt but not always understood.

EVENTS.

  • „Ramybės uostas“ Solo Exhibition at Hofas Kiemas Pop-Up gallery, Klaipeda
